Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) is Southern California’s Premier Chiropractic University.

Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) advances education and integrative healthcare to enrich lives and communities.

Dear Dr. Richard Gerardo,

Thank you for visiting LACC–SCUHS again this term and twice a year for the last 20 years to share Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) with the Doctorate of Chiropractic students. As usual, you provided a renewed view of chiropractic to the term 5 learners in the Specialized Chiropractic Procedures class.

Dr. Gerardo, the students love the way you show the different SOT categories of care and reveal profound changes in the students as you treat them. It’s eye-opening for them to consider how important treatment and or stabilization of the pelvis and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can be to an overall comprehensive treatment plan.

I love the example you embody and the idea you express, that chiros are not in competition with each other or with allopathic practitioners. That we can work inter-professionally together and the doctor of chiropractic is able to create a niche where he/she can help more patients; just as you have done. I too share this idea and liked how eloquently you stated it.

Looking at the muscular correlations! Wow! This is a key that students lose sight of when they are studying disease. Thank you for illustrating this through your demonstration treatments.

You effectively piqued the students’ curiosity so that most of them wanted to experience an SOT treatment and possibly learn the SOT protocols. Thank you for inspiring and educating the students! The SOT community always “shows up” and contributes with love and passion to the university!

Love and Light,
